Gov Okorocha Sacks SSG

The Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has sacked the Secretary to the State Government, Sir Jude Ejiogu from office and no reason was given for his removal from the office as at the time of filing this report.

Though, his removal might not be far from the jostle for 2019, Imo gubernatorial. The body language of the SSG portrays a man who has positioned himself for the plumb job come 2019.
The governor Owelle Okorocha from all indication seems to be uncomfortable with this seemingly posture of the SSG as according to him, “this is no time for politicking, but to deliver dividends of democracy to the populace”.

Our correspondent, who has been following the Imo political dynamics, especially, the ruling party in the state, All Progressives Congress (APC) government is aware that Sir Ejiogu was one of the kitchen cabinet of Governor Okorocha in the first tenure of his office. Sir Ejiogu was appointed Chief of Staff to Imo State Governor and SGI in his second tenure. This could position he was relieved of was given to him based on the rapport existed between the two bedfellows, whose relationship has now gone sour.

It would be recalled that as at Thursday, the Okorocha was with Ejiogu and other top government functionaries at the commissioning of Shoprite sited along Egbu road, Owerri.
Our correspondent learnt that the sacking of SSG might not be unconnected with the governor disgrace at Chattan house, London where he went to deliver lecture last week.
However, some school of thought said that his sacking might not be too far from the 2019 jostle for governorship.
