These 5 Do’s & Don’ts While ‘Greeting’ A Newborn Will Make Your Day! Number 3 Shouldn’t Be Ignored!

Baby

You had been counting the days to your friend’s due date – just as much as she had been doing – perhaps a little more than her because you were all the more elated about doing things for her and the new addition to her family.

You had been wishing to feel the excitement of maternity once more (if you already are a mother) or get your rehearsals if you are planning to be one soon – there is a motherly side to every woman after all! To hold the cuddly-wuddly bundle of joy is what most women look forward to – even if it isn’t their own baby.

Babies are so indisputably adorable. You can neither wait to gift the mittens you’ve woven for the new born, nor can you withhold yourself to feel the creases of its skin or caress the tiny delight. But what does the woman who just brought the new life into the world think? She certainly cares for your excitement and she could appreciate your goodwill but with some golden implicit rules on visiting a newborn. You must first get your bearings around the foremost Dos and Don’ts when you plan your first visit.

1. Don’t: Never Go To See The New Born At The Hospital:

If you have just received a message about the new arrival, don’t rush to the hospital to be the first visitor. For one, the mother has already endured too much and she is being ‘roomed in’ with her baby. The early hours after delivery are when the child must start bonding with the mother. Secondly, the more the people swarm in around the baby, the higher are the chances of potent infection! It’s the best to give the new parents their own time to get over the overwhelming feeling of – ‘Hey, we’ve just become Mom and Dad!”

Do: Help fetching needs.

You could ask the new parents if they need any help. While the nursing staff must already be doing their part, you could bring anything additional that they might need.

2. Don’t: Never Visit A Home Unannounced

So the mother and baby have been discharged from the hospital and are homebound. But you don’t have to step in unannounced. Always call to ask if it is the best time to visit. The new mother is still getting used to feeding her child, and might need more privacy. She might be half-dressed, might not be looking at her best, or might be suffering from post-partum depression even if it isn’t evident. Remember not all mothers are comfortable bearing their chests for their babies in front of their best friends!

Do: Leave Your Footwear Out, And Bring In The Hand Sanitizer.

Don’t assume you have super-clean hands even you have washed them. The human body can turn into a great germ carrier (considering the normal body flora) within a few minutes. Before you can carry the baby in your arms, use the hand sanitizer. Also remember to remove your footwear outside the door.

3. Don’t: Never Carry The Baby Without Uttering Kind Words:
Don’t Never Carry The Baby Without Uttering Kind Words

You will be surprised at this. But in any many cultures the baby must be talked to before carrying in one’s arms. This holds true especially when it’s sleeping. Although it might not understand what you speak, the subconscious mind that helps him recognize the security that a mother can offer might be dispelled with fear or shock if you hold him unwarned!

Do: Ask For The Mother’s Approval To Carry The Child.

Ask the mother if she is alright with you carrying the child for some time. With all probability she will be happy with the fawning.

4. Don’t: Don’t Visit When You Are Sick:
Don’t Don’t Visit When You Are Sick

This can be unpardonable. The mother is not interested in you visiting with sneezes and coughs. Stay away from being a germ carrier. Also remember not to kiss the baby on the face or hands.

Do: Always Bring Gifts And Food.

The gift for the baby is undeniable. But gifts for the elder siblings might also be a great idea. They are less likely to bother the young one with all the “coo-coo-gaa-gaa” while being occupied with their gifts. And yes – the food – it could be brilliant; for who could be cooking so much in between nursing the two?

5. Don’t: No Taking Pictures Even If Solicited
You have no business taking pictures of the little one even with the approval of the parents. Remember that the flashes of a camera do no good to the young one. The tiny thing is already exposed to some flashes. Don’t allow for more. You could save it for the upcoming precious times.

Do: Be A Helping Hand.

Help in the kitchen – clean up the mess around. Do the necessary groceries for your friend. And be willing to give any of your advice only when asked.

Bear these in mind, and you surely are a hit with the tiny esteemed guest!

A yellow fever outbreak in Angola has killed 51 people, in the first epidemic of the disease to hit the country in 30 years, official statistics showed on Monday. A total of 241 people were now infected, the southern African country’s national director of public health, Adelaide de Carvalho, said. More than 450,000 people had been vaccinated in the capital of a target of nearly 1.6 million, Carvalho added.

The centre of the outbreak is the capital Luanda’s eastern suburb of Viana where 29 deaths and 92 cases have been reported over the past six weeks, she said. There is no specific treatment for the viral haemorrhagic disease which is transmitted by infected mosquitoes and found in tropical regions of Africa and Latin America’s Amazon region.

Yellow fever symptoms include severe headache, nausea, vomiting and fatigue, according to the World Health Organization. The disease can enter a toxic phase in some people, leading to organ failure and death. Poor sanitation is being blamed for stoking the outbreak, by providing fertile breeding grounds for mosquitos.

Angola lies in the yellow fever belt of Africa where vaccination against the disease is recommended.

Matters Arising: 5 Things Kemi Adeosun Wants You Know About Government’s Plan For The Economy

Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun

The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun speaking over the weekend at the KPMG CFO Forum held at Eko Hotel in Lagos said the Federal Government would raise about $4.5 billion from multiple external sources, including the Eurobond market, to plug its budget deficit. Since the drastic fall of crude oil price globally, which has now led to the naira hitting record lows on the parallel market amid dwindling foreign exchange reserves, considering the fact that crude oil accounted for 95 percent of Nigeria’s foreign earnings. In order to manage the very devastating economic situation of the country and generate revenue from other sources to run the economy, here is what the Buhari-led government has been up to lately –  Here are 5 crucial things to know from her presentation in this piece…

 1. Mrs Adeosun stated that FG payroll bill in January 2016 was 5billion naira less than that of December 2015, and this is as a result of the many fraudulent ghost accounts that got delisted. The plan according to the Minister is to save 10billion monthly.

2. The Minister noted that the BVN has reduced instances where hundreds of accounts are opened in a Bank and put on the payroll sameday. The implication of this according to the Minister is that bank managers, who engaged in this fradulent practice will soon be arrested and tried.

3. 50% of the 2016 budget borrowing will be funded from external sources. This is because government plans to reduce domestic borrowing to fund budget deficit as to ‘force’ banks to lend to the productive sector.

4. The Minister revealed that Govt spent 18.5billion on Stationery and office consumables in 2015 while total spend on capital expenditure was 18.9billion. In order to reduce the cost and ensure efficient and effective supply, government is re-negotiating all contracts of supply.

5. The Minister said the government plans to build a self-sustaining economy, regardless of how much crude oil costs in the world.

Do you think this is achievable???

Photo: Saudi Arabia releases photo of mosque suicide bomber...

The perpetrator of the Friday bomb attack on Al Ridha Mosque in Al Ahsa in the Eastern Province has been identified as Abdul Rahman Bin Abdullah Bin Sulaiman Al Tuwaijri, a 22-year-old Saudi national. The interior ministry said on Saturday, January 30, said that the attacker who bombed the mosque in Al Mahasin neighbourhood had been arrested two years ago for taking part in a rally to call for the release of detainees.

A second suicide bomber was arrested during the attack and he is being treated for wounds, the ministry said, adding that details about his identity will be revealed later.

The statement said that four Saudi citizens were killed and 33 were injured in the attack. Three security servicemen were also wounded.
"So far, 19 of the injured citizens have left the hospital following their treatment whereas the other 14 and the three policemen are still being treated," the ministry said.
The security forces will continue their efforts to identify and track down all those involved in the attack through planning, execution, support and direct or indirect incitement," the ministry pledged.
During a visit to the injured at the hospital, Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz expressed national resolve to address terrorism.
"What happened on Friday will only reinforce our determination to root out terrorists," he said. "They are serving a specific agenda, but thank God, we are reversing their objectives," Prince Mohammad, also Saudi Arabia's interior minister, said.
According to a Saudi report, the suicide bomber's father did not notice any change in his son's attitudes when they were together on Thursday, hours before the deadly attack widely condemned in Saudi Arabia and well beyond.
"There was nothing peculiar or strange about him, and he was such a devoted and obedient son," he said, Al Arabiya news site reported. "When we talked on Thursday, there was no indication to what was going to happen on Friday. The other man implicated with him in the attack is close to him and they often did things together," he said.
The father added that his son worked in a restaurant and attended courses at a community college:
"I am sure my son has been subjected to a magical act. I do not know how they reached him, especially that he rarely left the house and never mingled with suspicious people. He never left Saudi Arabia and he does not even have a passport. I do not know how my son has been charged" he said.

Lol. Timbaland refuses to play at a concert because of champagne, tries to explain to fans but they dont understand him

Timbaland refused to perform at a fundraiser for water-plagued Flint, Michigan, because he was served the wrong champagne, it has been claimed. The music producer reportedly asked for Ace Of Spades, a particular brand of bubbly designed by Jay Z, to be served in the dressing room of the Detroit event raising money to buy bottled water for residents. Instead he was served Dom Perignon - and that was enough to lose his contract all together.
According to the New York Daily News, Timbaland drank every drop of the champagne, tequila, vodka, cognac, and disaronno that he had requested but refused to perform his 30-minute DJ set because of the champagne mix-up and simply stood in the venue nodding his head.
A lot of Michigan residents felt disappointed that he didn't perform and started to curse him, so he took to IG to try to explain what happened but no once could decipher what he tried to say. He wrote:
