Suarez and Iniesta persuades Isco to join Barcelona

Andres Iniesta and Denis Suarez have urged Real Madrid’s Isco, to join them at Barcelona.

Isco’s current deal at the Santiago Bernabeu expires in 2018 and he has been linked with a move away this summer.

Reports in Spain this week claim Barca are ready to pay the 24-year-old a big signing-on fee, if he runs down his deal and then moved to Camp Nou on a free transfer.

“He is a fantastic player, with an incredible talent,” Iniesta told reporters.

“For many years he has been doing things very well and he is playing for one of the best teams in the world.

“He is an important player not just in the national team but in his club. He is young and has many years to grow and improve.”

Suarez however remains cautious about a possible deal. The last player to move directly from Real Madrid to Barcelona was Luis Enrique in 1996

“Of course I would like to have Isco as a team-mate, all good players are welcome in our team,” he said to Cadena Ser.

“Isco has an incredible talent but right now he is under contract with Real.

“We have to wait and see what happens. If he doesn’t sign a contract extension, then we can talk.”

Man-U Defeats Southampton To Lift The League Cup Trophy

Red Devil's forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic struck twice including a late headed winner to defeat Southampton 3-2 in a very tough League Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.

The Swede super striker nodded a corner kick past Southhampton's goalkeeper to score his 26th goal of the season in all competitions and secure Jose Mourinho’s first trophy since the Portuguese coach took charge.

Swansea City Sack Bob Bradley Three Months After Appointing Him

English Premiership club Swansea City have sacked Bob Bradley after only 85 days in charge, bringing an end to a brief and disastrous spell as manager that yielded only eight points from 11 games.
Image result for Bob Bradley
Swansea had been determined to give Bradley the January transfer window to strengthen the squad he inherited when he took over in October but the crushing Boxing Day defeat at the hands of West Ham United, and the supporter unrest during the second half of that match, left the club’s American owners with no choice but to act.
Alan Curtis, the first-team coach, and Paul Williams, the assistant manager, have been placed in charge on a temporary basis as the club look for a permanent replacement.
Bradley’s position effectively became untenable after Swansea lost 4-1 against West Ham. A large section of the crowd at the Liberty Stadium chanted “We want Bradley out” during the game, which was Swansea’s third defeat in succession.
It was also the eighth time during Bradley’s tenure that Swansea had conceded three goals or more in a match and left the Welsh club second from bottom in the Premier League, four points adrift of safety.
Bob Bradley was viewed as something of a gamble when he became the first American to manage in the Premier League and there is no escaping the fact that his appointment has proved to be a terrible decision.
Following his final defeat, in which the visitors scored three second-half goals and fans rounded on the manager, Bradley said: “I don’t make excuses. After a game like today I take responsibility that it’s not good enough.
Inside the dressing room we have to look at each other and accept that especially in the second half we had the chance to fight back and we weren’t able to do it in a strong enough way. At the moment we’re our own worst enemy, no matter what we do we seem to put ourselves in terrible spots.”

Gerrard set for Liverpool return

steven-gerrard-liverpoo_1cf95f8
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, is on the verge of returning to the club to take up a position as a coach and has stated that he needs a symbolic one.
The 36-year-old has discussed the possibility of helping to shape the club’s younger generation with Academy director, Alex Inglethorpe. Report says dialogue is at an advanced stage.
Following his exit from Major League Soccer side, LA Galaxy, Gerrard has multiple other offers to consider while he takes a little break and spends time with his family.
The England FA has also been in contact with him over prospects at international level of being an assistance coach.
Gerrard told Goal, “I’ve got options on the pitch, off the pitch and I’ve got a bit of thinking to do over the next two, three weeks.
His old managers, Brendan Rodgers at Celtic and Newcastle’s Rafael Benitez are both interested in working with him.
“In a short space of time I took a lot away. Tactically, I tried to pick up what he wanted to get out of every player in the team.
During the MLS break Gerrard returned to train with his former club and said:
“I tried to analyse what would be the qualities he wants to make a successful Jurgen Klopp team. I stuffed in as much as I could learn as possible.
“From just those two to three weeks training with the team and doing gym work at Melwood, I could clearly see his principles and how he wants the team to play in the future.
“All the coaches I’ve worked with at Liverpool, I tried to log notes on their way of working, things I felt they did right or wrong, how they handled different situations.
“For someone like me who wants to stay involved in the game when I retire, I think it’s very important to keep that sort of information on the various approaches to management.”
“I didn’t want to say goodbye to the team and to the supporters and never look back.
“I always hoped the doors would be open for me and I’m grateful that they are because the club has been a huge part of my life and will continue to play a big part

Arsenal's Midfielder Serge Gnabry signed up by Werder Bremen For Undisclosed Fee

Werder Bremen have signed Arsenal midfielder Serge Gnabry for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old was the joint top scorer at this summer's Olympic Games with six goals as his Germany side lost the final to hosts Brazil.

Gnabry joined the Gunners in 2011 and made 18 appearances for the club, scoring once.
Reports on Tuesday suggested the player would join Bayern Munichbefore being loaned to Bremen.

However, the club's sporting director Frank Baumann has denied any other club is involved in the transfer: "There aren't any agreements with other clubs."
Gnabry said: "Per Mertesacker and Mesut Ozil have only said positive things about the club.

"I'm confident we'll have a successful season and push for the top half of the table.
"I had very good talks with the management and that has led me here."

Why Arsenal cannot win Premier League – Vieira

Vieira

Former Arsenal captain, Patrick Vieira, has said that in as much as manager, Arsene Wenger’s stringent transfer policy is helpful to the club, there might be need for reinforcements following the north London side’s lacklustre start to the Premier League campaign.
Haven lost their opening game to Liverpool at the Emirate stadium, Arsenal played out a goalless draw with champions Leicester City on Saturday.
Arsene Wenger has come under heavy verbal attack from fans and media as who are expecting him to invest into the squad which finished second last campaign.
Viera told British media, “I quite admire that, in the world where some clubs have so much money, they go and buy players who are £40 million and are worth £10 million.”
Though Wenger has not been too busy in the transfer window which closes on September 1, he had added three players to his squad which include midfielder Granit Xhaka, defender Rob Holding and striker Takuma Asano.
Vieira, who is currently managing New York City FC in the US added, “But on the other side the team is not doing as good as it used to and you need to win football matches.
“They’ve been disappointing, losing games they should have won.
“My generation had lots of physically strong players. In this last five or six years, Arsenal went more with this type of mobile, technical players.
“Now when I watch Arsenal, yes they play good football but I just have a feeling they are missing something – the physical presence, the personality, this is what they’re missing.”

Van Gaal says ‘it’s over’ after FA Cup win

van gaal

Manchester United manager, Louis van Gaal, has told Sky Sports News that “it’s over”, while leaving the team’s hotel on Sunday.
His cryptic comments come as speculations increase, that the Old Trafford outfit are set to name Jose Mourinho as his replacement.
The former Chelsea boss is expected to be confirmed as the new United manager this week, after both parties agreed a deal.
Van Gaal led the team to FA Cup glory on Saturday – United’s first silverware since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013 – defeating Crystal Palace 2-1 at Wembley.
He is however set to be fired, after he failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Lionel Messi Broke a Woman's Arm With a Missed Shot

He might be the world's greatest player, but Lionel Messi isn't often recognized for his power.

His low center of gravity and balance while running at pace make him nearly impossible to knock off the ball, however, and he's won plenty of physical challenges against much bigger players. But he can also call on a deceptively formidable shot, especially on his left foot. With very little back lift, he can generate plenty of power.

An unlucky fan discovered how much force the Argentine has at his disposal at a match yesterday between Villareal and Barcelona. Messi cut inside off the right wing toward the top of the box and unleashed an explosive left-foot effort that flew over the crossbar and kept rising.

A female fan stuck up an arm to protect herself, and the ball struck with enough force to break it. Video after shows her in noticeable pain, and she seems to go into a kind of shock while trying to leave her seat to get medical attention.

It's an issue more commonly associated with baseball or hockey, but be warned: Catching a soccer game from the stands can also be dangerous.
