Buhari’s policies are anti-people, dictatorial – Damishi Sango

Damishi Sango

A former Minister of Youths and Sports during former President, Olusegun Obasanjo’s regime and now Plateau State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman, Damishi Sango, has described President Muhammadu Buhari’s policies as “anti-people and dictatorial.”
The former minister noted that the level of hardship under the current administration has reduced many Nigerians to live in untold poverty.
The party’s chieftain was speaking on Tuesday at a press conference which held at the party’s secretariat in Jos, the state capital.
He recalled that Nigerians suffered more than now during Buhari’s military government in 1983.
He said, “Buhari is not a democrat, he jailed our parents during his rule as military head of state; I was a witness to that, our people suffered severe hunger, just as the hunger that is biting now.”
He claimed most Nigerians who voted Buhari in 2015 were already disappointed.
He added, “Not many thought the first year of Muhammadu Buhari would look like this. The pump price of petrol at 145, per litre, the Naira at 380 to a dollar, not a single road tarred, the 2016 budget in baby step, no minister has received a tranche for work, salary backlog now a routine, herdsmen as killer squads, Biafra on the rampage, Niger Delta brigands reborn, the change mantra muted jobs.”
He lamented that Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong, was still owing civil servants in the state even after receiving N97billion from the federal government since he assumed office.

Chinhengo committed suicide in police cell after he was arrested for stabbing his older lover, Patricia Chiweshe, to death, H-metro reports.
According to the report, Timothy, from Landa’s business centre in Chihota trailed his lover and saw her coming from a toilet in the company of a man, at the weekend, when he approached them and stabbed his lover several times.
The Police spokesperson, Siphiwe Makonese, who confirmed the report, was quoted to have said Timothy was arrested afterwards and hung himself at Mahusekwa police station in a cell using a strap from the blanket cell.
Timothy’s aunt, Sarah Mhondiw, speaking on the incident, recounted how she tried to stop him from dating the cougar but he was said to have been adamant.
Mhondiw said, “I really don’t know how to explain the story as I’m in shock. Timothy met Patricia at some bar, Patricia was said to be a prostitute at the time.
They started co-habiting despite our protests.
“The matter was reported to the chief and both were lashed. We even approached the police who said they could not intervene.
“I visited him while he was in police custody. He told me that he attacked Patricia because she was cheating on him with a guard who works at a bar somewhere at Landas shopping center. He said he had heard rumors and he finally saw it for himself. Patricia told him to mind his own business. He did not manage to tell me the rest of the story because we were told that visiting time was over.
“Later that day when we wanted to give him food the police told us that he had committed suicide.
“Timothy would confide in me all the time, he used to say that his wife drives him to drink often and that he cannot even pray anymore. He believed that Patricia had used juju on him,” Mhondiw sobbed.

Enugu Assembly summons FCMB, Interswitch over alleged diversion of funds

The Enugu State House of Assembly has summoned the chief executive officer of the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and Inter-Switch Ltd over the diversion of the state’s funds.
The Chairman of its ad hoc committee on diversion of internally generated revenue, Mr Sunday Ude-Okoye, gave the directive in Enugu on Friday during a fact-finding meeting.
He requested the bank to furnish the committee with the details of the state’s internally generated revenue account domiciled with it from 2008 to June 2016.
Ude-Okoye also asked the bank to make available statements of transactions made with the state board of internal revenue, including cheque books released to the board within the same period.
He said that the directive became imperative following petitions against the immediate past chairman of the state board of internal revenue, Chief Felix Chime, and other principal officers of the board.
The lawmaker said that FCMB was the central revenue collector for the state, adding that Inter-Switch is a company that helps it transmit all collected revenue from other banks.
Ude-Okoye said that the directive would enable the committee to get to the root of the allegations without bias.
He directed Chime and other principal officers of the board to ensure strict compliance with the directives given to the companies.
He appealed to officers of the revenue board to be meticulous in issues that related to revenue collection, adding that the committee would do its best to ensure that truth prevailed.
The legislator warned that all diverted funds must be returned to the state coffers, if established.
Ude- Okoye ruled out the involvement of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at this preliminary stage, adding that the commission would only come in if the allegation of diversion was established.
In his submission, Chime said that all actions taken by his board had the approval of the then state executive council, adding that the past administration was aware of their transactions with Inter-Switch Ltd and FCMB. (NAN)

After Sleeping With A Man In Abuja…She Later Dived in A Pool of Water

girl-drowning-wide-wallpaper-23417

A 17 year old girl, Miss Tessy tried to take her life after finding out that her sugar daddy who took her to an unnamed hotel in Abuja had infected her with the much dreaded HIV disease.
Staff of the said hotel who were perplexed when Miss Tessy suddenly ran out of her hotel room heading to the pool side, got the shock of their life when she dived into the deepest part of the pool and started drowning.
If not for the timely intervention of the swimming pool attendant, who also dived into the pool and rescued the girl, the story would have been different.
After she was rescued, she started shouting“Please leave me to die, I want to die” However, a staff of the hotel saw a phone in her jean trouser’s pocket, he took out the Sim card from the phone (which was obviously soaked with water) and inserted the Sim in his own phone. He called the first number on the Sim “Aunty Gloria” when the lady “Aunty Gloria” picked up the phone, she was informed about Tessy’s attempted sui cide and was asked to come and take her home as her condition was  now stable (after the first aid administered).
Furthermore, Tessy was interrogated on the reason for her action, she started crying and speaking at the top of her voice, that the man who brought her to the hotel had infected her with HIV.
She told the hotel staff and guests that were with her, that the man after having s3x with her told her that he wanted to go out and buy some fruits from a fruit market not too far from the hotel.
However, two hours later after the man left, he sent her a text message telling her that he has infected her with HIV, he told her that he was infected with HIV last year by a girl and that he will never go down alone.
On further interrogation, the girl said that she is only 17 years old and that she just met the man (Philip) two weeks ago and decided to follow him to the hotel on his invitation.
Some people advised her to go to the hospital and test for HIV before jumping into conclusion.
Others scolded her for trying to take her life over a matter she is not even sure of, they told her that even if the test is positive, that does not give her the right to want to take her life because there are so many people living with the disease and doing very well in life.

Larry King's Wife Is Allegedly Cheating And He ‘Doesn't Know What to Do’ About it.

Larry King is distraught about an alleged yearlong affair his wife of 19 years has been having, sources confirm to PEOPLE.

“It’s true, and Larry is completely embarrassed and anguished by all of this,” one source close to the situation tells PEOPLE of the alleged infidelity. “He doesn’t know what to do.”

Another insider says that Shawn, 56, allegedly told Richard Greene that her marriage to Larry, 82, was over. (News of the affair was first reported by National Enquirer, and theNew York Post’s Page Six first identified Greene.)

Though Shawn and Greene allegedly briefly split, the insider says they have since reunited.

Shawn, a former singer and TV host, is Larry’s seventh wife. The two tied the knot in 1997 and share two sons: Chance, 17, and Cannon, 16.

In 2010, Larry and Shawn filed for divorce, but laterreconciled and filed petitions to stop the proceedings almost three months after the original filing.

“A lot of new things are happening to us, and we are happy to be together as a family with our children,” Larry said in a statement at the time.

That same year, Shawn was hospitalized in May after being found unconscious at home. A police report at the time stated she was found with bottles of prescription medication and reported it may have been a possible suicide attempt. (In June 2008, Shawn sought treatment for addiction to painkillers, which her father said was in part due to her longtime struggle with migraines.)

“Our marriage is still together and I am staying very close to our children, who we love immensely,” Larry said in a statement after the May 2010 incident. “We shall go through this difficult time intact as a family.”

Reps for Shawn did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

LADIES! SEE 4 WAYS TO MAKE YOUR NATURAL HAIR GROW LONGER

How to make your natural hair grow longer – The long hair struggle is one we all know. Your friends are having hair length of 16 inches and such. But your hair has refused to grow longer than 8inches.
You’re always like: Don’t worry, we’ve got you. If you want your natural hair to grow longer, here are some simple things to try:
1.  Moisturizing is the way
Moisturizing black hair
Moisturizing black hair
Our hair is prone to dryness. Dry hair breaks easily. Moisturizing your hair with oils such as coconut, shea butter, jojoba oil and more keeps them soft. It prevents breakage and helps you retain length.

2.  Trim split ends

It may sound weird, cutting hair off to make it grow. But this works wonders. You know those split and damaged ends of your hair? Cutting off half or quarter inch helps keep them from working their way to the roots and damaging your hair.

3.  Deep Condition always

Deep conditioning sounds like an under sea thing right? It’s a technique for conditioning your hair that helps it retain moisture and keeps it soft.
After applying conditioner, use a shower cap to cover your hair for 30-40 minutes. Then wash. Do this at least once a month to keep your hair beautiful.

4.  Protective styling is bae

You know how you keep tugging your hair or touching it? That doesn’t help it’s growth.
This is why you need proective styles like box braids, Ghana weaving, crotchet twists etc.
They protect your hair from the pressures of constant maintainence.
Also, don’t carry protective styles for months on end. Switch them up as your hair needs to breath.

Chris Rock’s Divorce Has Been Finalized

Chris Rock’s divorce from his wife Malaak Compton-Rock has been finalized

The former couple finalized their divorce on Monday after appearing in front of a New Jersey judge, reports TMZ

The pair announced the end of their nearly 20-year marriage in 2014, and spent the next two years hashing out the details of their divorce settlement – including the issue of child support.

Rock and Compton-Rock were in disagreement over whether the comedian should support a child whom Compton-Rock says was raised as their own for years.

In Rock’s original divorce filing on Dec. 23, 2015, the comedian, 50, stated the couple have just two children together. However, in Compton-Rock’s counterclaim, she stated that in addition to their two children, there is a child “who has resided with the parties since before her first birthday.”

Though Compton-Rock maintained that the couple raised the child together and served as her parents, she decided to proceed with the adoption process alone once the divorce was announced.

According to TMZ, the divorce case was sealed, so details of their settlement, including child support, have not been disclosed.

Shallow grave found in Lagos pastor’s home

Shallow grave found in Lagos pastor’s home

•Police deepen probe
The police in Lagos yesterday claimed that shallow graves were discovered at the residence of 70-year-old Prophet Emmanuel Adeyemi arrested for chaining his son and 27 others.
Police Commissioner Fatai Owoseni who confirmed the allegation said the place was raided following a tip-off that the suspect traded human parts to ritualists.
He claimed that Adeyemi who was arrested alongside his first wife on Friday, buried some dead persons in the swamps and three others at his residence.
Owoseni said: “We got a tip-off that they were people he buried in that compound and he confirmed it during interrogation.
“Because the area is swampy, the suspect had allegedly buried some people in the swamp and about three others in the house.
“When we asked him of their identities he said it was some of his patients that were brought to his home from the hospital, after they were given up for dead, who finally died in his care and were buried in the swamp.
“When we also queried him on the claims that he used the body parts of the deceased to sell to ritualists, he swore that he was only a traditional healer and not a human parts seller.”
Owoseni said Adeyemi was earlier invited for questioning after it was discovered that he put his son in chains.
The Commissioner said the suspect claimed he chained the teenager, Toba Adedoyin Adeyemi in order to cure him from stealing.
He said: “When we got information that a teenager was locked up in a house, the area G Commander invited the suspect, who claimed that his son was known for stealing and so he locked him up in chains to cure him of stealing.
“While we were still on that case, we got another credible tip off that there were other people chained up in that same house. Of course, we carried out a raid and confirmed the allegation to be true.
“But before then, we had contacted the Lagos State Government because we don’t have the facility to keep the rescued persons. His claims now that he was arrested is  that he is a herbalist, but why didn’t he tell us that when we first invited him to the station over locking up his stepson? He only told us that he wanted to cure his son of stealing.”
It was gathered that one of the victims who was feeble and had sores was currently on admission at a hospital, while the others were moved to the state rehabilitation centre.

Arms procurement scam extended Boko Haram’s reign – Buhari

Arms procurement scam extended Boko Haram's reign - Buhari
                                                                  Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday maintained that the embezzlement of funds meant for equipping the armed forces under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan strengthened the Boko Haram and extended its activities in the Northeast.
Buhari, who was represented by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, made the remark at the lunch of the Reviewed National Counter Terrorism Strategy (NACTEST) in Abuja.
The embezzlement, he said, led to the death of thousands of Nigerians and destruction of properties.
The President described the action of those who embezzled the funds as wicked and disgraceful.
He said: “Sadly because of the disgraceful deed and the wickedness of some in governance and some in high office in the armed forces at the time, funds meant to equip soldiers to continue the fight against terror was embezzled. The incredible selfishness caused the nation of thousands of lives, extended the reign of terror and strengthened the enemy.
“In the past few years our nation faced the threat of terrorism characterized by mindless killing of our people including children. The massacre of the Buni Yadi boys in their hostels at night, the bombing of churches, mosques and market places, the kidnap of the Chibok girls and many others.
“The sheer recklessness of the killings, the shootings and the executions were meant to terrorize and produce maximum fear. To further establish their reign of terror, the insurgents hoisted their terror flags in almost 27 local government areas in the northeast.”
‎President Buhari said his administration since inception has emboldened the morale of the armed forces and ensure absolute defeat of the terrorists.
He, however, noted that the visages of the activities and the warped ideologies of the sect still linger.

Man abandons wife, marries mother-in-law

confussed man

A 22-year old Indian man, Mahto Suraj, has reportedly abandoned his wife and married his mother-in-law, Asha Devi.
Mahto claimed to have fallen in love with his 42-year-old mother-in-law when she came to stay with him and his wife, Mahto Lalita, in the village of Puraini in Bihar, in the north-eastern part of India in 2015, but two months into his marriage to his mother-in-law, Mahto says he has realized his mistakes, Gulf News is reporting.
He is now seeking a divorce from his mother-in-law and wants to go back to Lalita, his abandoned wife.
Meanwhile, when Lalita got wind of their romance, she asked her mother out of her matrimonial home but her husband objected and later eloped with Devi to a neighbouring town where he married her.
Mahto went ahead to marry his mother-in-law despite oppositions from villagers.
However, after two months of marriage, the ‘couple’ is begging for forgiveness.
Mahto said he has come back to his senses and wants to go back to his wife.
Speaking, he said, “I have come to realize my foolishness. I admit I have committed the mistake, but will never repeat in future. Now, I no longer treat her (Devi) as my wife, rather, I have started paying her regard as a mother and an in-law that she is.
“I am on my knees, I’m begging Lalita to take me back home for the sake of our son,” Mahto added.
On her part, Devi reportedly said she has realized her mistake.
She, however, sought for forgiveness, saying she will divorce her son-in-law.
Devi said, “I no longer treating him as my husband, but as a son-in-law.
“We have already filed a divorce petition in the court and I want to return to my husband as soon as possible,” she added.

NAF kills top Boko Haram fighters

Nigeria - Air Force NAF477 aircraft at Manchester

Nigeria’s Air Force said on Tuesday it had killed several senior Boko Haram fighters and possibly their overall leader.
Government planes attacked the group inside the Sambisa forest in its northeast heartland on Friday, the air force said, adding that it had only just confirmed details of the impact of the raid.
“Their leader, so called ‘Abubakar Shekau,’ is believed to be fatally wounded on his shoulders,” Reuters quoted the military spokesman, Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman, as saying in a statement.
There was no immediate reaction from Boko Haram, which communicates with the media only by videos.
The military has reported the death of Boko Haram’s Shekau in the past, only to have a man purporting to be him appearing later, apparently unharmed, making video statements.

NAFDAC alerts on fake alcohol

The National Agency for Foods and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has alerted Nigerians on the prevalence of fake alcoholic drinks, especially dry gin in the nation’s markets.
The NAFDAC Director of Special Duties, Dr. Abubakar Jimoh, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos on Tuesday that the agency had continued to advise consumers of alcoholic beverages to be alert and be very wary of fake and unregistered drinks.
“Drinking alcohol is bad enough and people are always advised to take it in moderation. So, the danger associated with taking a fake drink can only be imagined,” he said.
Jimoh said the agency had taken its campaign against fake drinks to Plateau, Gombe, Benue, Bauchi and many other states in north and had engaged traditional and religious leaders to lead the efforts.
He particularly decried the rampant consumption of drinks like Ogogoro (dry gin) and “goskolo” by youths, and urged stakeholders to join in the fight “ since the youths are the group most affected.
“We have found that the youths rely on such drinks to gather enough courage to commit all manners of atrocities like armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, killing and the rest.
“We have, therefore, continued to intensify our campaigns and that has resulted into some states coming up with bylaws that banned some alcoholic beverages.
“We have also raided production and drinking points of some of these dangerous drinks, especially in Edo and Delta States, because the drinks have damaged many livers, kidneys and other vital organs of the body.
“They have also led to the gradual decline in the health status of many youths and totally destroyed their capacity to contribute to societal development,” he said.
